Reinforcing strained 2x2, white cable?

I was going to try reinforcing this strained connection with some liquid electrical tape and or heat shrink tubing, and then I noticed the broken white cable. The red and black cables are intact and when I use the tester over each coil in the 2x2, the green lights flash.

I’m probably due for some replacement coils, but also trying to be more sustainable and repair what I can these days (repaired a set of cracked noise cancelling headphones the other day, feels good!).

Do I need to strip more of the coating and reattach the white cable to something? (Is it connected to the shielding? ) or is as long as the tester is working, should things be ok if I just reinforce it. I do have soldering stuff and a multimeter and such, but I’m fairly removed from my courses in intro electronics .

I’m trying to fix this without ripping it apart, if need be and also trying not to fry the A9, lol.

No need to connect the white wire. It is not connected to anything in this coil assembly. If your coil tester shows each coil is functioning, all is good. Reinforce, and please feel free to give suggestions to others who are also interested here in the forum.

I had one do the same thing and wrapped it with coflex tape . Still works after a few months.

Following, I have the same thing with several sets. They are sitting on my project bench. I hope to make them more stable. They always break in the same place. I will be curious to see your fix-it technique.
