Model question…

So I have a refurbed A9. Turns out my low back really likes using the 2x2 array…like all day. And sometimes on high.
Recently caught it doing the “blinking red X” thing a couple times, which prolly means there are times when I haven’t caught it. Came here to see what that means - oops!
Do any of the wearables have enough power to drive that array for long periods on battery?

Sort of…he also had another thread about the A9 specifically, and said that the red light was the system overheating, and that things that caused it to overheat (and sometimes burn out if you ignore the flashing red light) was using the 2x2 coil for a) long periods, or b) on high.

So I am trying to find out if any of the other models will run the 2x2 on high for potentially long periods without issues.

The coil-driver-circuit is always the same in all current devices according to @Bob.

The C5/B5 has temperature readouts, so you could check. I think the 2x2 with intensity 15 is a little bit much for the smaller devices when using a battery anyway. Better try my 2x2 deep field coil and the C5 with a 15000 mAh Powerbank: 2x2 Deep-Field pad & 2x8 pad - this has much more “ommphhh” :sunglasses:

Tnx! If I need that much oomph I can strap one of my ponie’s hock boots to my back! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Was looking to see if something still in the seriously portable range would work. Guess pony’s gonna start sharing!

Your DIY pads are awesome! If I get rich I might try that!

If you power the A9 with the 2x2 array with a powerbank does it have the red light issue?

my experience has been that (esp if you’re running high (x?) on 2x2 it blinks red when it’s overheated. when it blinks red, put your tester on it…i believe it also stops putting out pulses until it cools down as a safety feature from damaging electronics.

I have no idea if you even CAN use a power bank w the A9…

Yes you can use a power bank with the A9. Search this forum for recommendations on models or the internet for power banks that support trickle charge mode.

OK…stupid question…where do you plug it in? I’ll go look…

I frequently have this issue when using A-9 on highest setting with the battery. Since purchasing the plug in, it happens less often, but I have it set down a notch. I would prefer to use it on the maximum setting, but I still run into this problem from time to time.

Do you mean the wall charger adapter? Does that work w a power bank?
