Applying PEMF to head (Hair Loss, sleep, etc benefits?)

Hi @Bob, fully understand that step, even if you tech is inside it. Hope this project takes off and that you receive you fees. I will wait for further details come out and they actually shop the hat. Also an EU address / office would be nice, since they write to ship from the EU, too. The Delaware address of the company seems a little bit “strange” to me for now. Its a lot of money to disappear in case they do not get the mass manufacturing flying.

i can see being extra careful not to talk about this in the forum for fear that someone would misunderstand and jump to conclusions you’re pushing product here.

would you at least be able to talk about it the same way you do about other products mentioned in forum when people ask details about it?

my main question right now is more about the protocol they suggest for use of this product. that one pic of hair regrowth is fantastic :hushed:

I’m excited to hear the feedback the public gives on this (assuming they use it consistently per the instructions for the product).

how available will it be (on Amazon “mainstream” accessible)?

Hi @Bob Can you please share some thought why PEMF can be helpful to regrowing hair?

in addition to ICES PEMF, 660/850nm light can help, also you can check out this https://www.2ddrhair.com/ based on recents studies on this particular sugar driving hair growth, as well as particular peptides likes those found in https://aseircustom.com/products/auxano-grow-hair-growth-formula. (haven’t used the auxano but use/like the GHK-CU face serum and cream)

In other news, and just an anecdote: the lady who cuts my hair thought my hair is now much fuller since I started using the ICES PEMF prototype hat from @Bob about over a month ago.

Thanks for sharing. Can I ask your current protocol atm? What are you using besides the PEMF cap? For me personally, I need an easy protocol if I am going to do anything. So the PEMF cap is perfect for me.

That’s a super-interesting question. Probably the best response is that this is another case of “Oops, Bob was wrong again!”.

For decades I have tried to be a counter-balance to the massive fire hose of false claims about the universal magic of PEMF. I am trying to do the right thing, but this puts me in the position of having a bias against PEMF. I realize this, and I rationalize that it is probably OK for me to have a biased opinion on the side of being too careful and conservative about any biological effects of PEMF because when I am confronted with solid repeatable data to the contrary, I will change my mind. So, I treat my bias as healthy scientific skepticism.

Recalling for those who have not heard this story yet, when I was asked to do the first consulting work for NASA-JSC on the biological effects of PEMF (called TVEMF at that time by the NASA scientist I was working with), my response was very much against the possibility that PEMF would have any beneficial biological effects. So I built all of the instruments to test it, we ran controlled experiments at NASA, we got positive results (my bias was wrong), I was not convinced, we repeated everything again, and got the same positive results again. So, the data was in favor of beneficial biological effects of PEMF, the experiment was replicable (we checked everything, repeated it and got the same results). Therefore my bias was not supported. Therefore I changed my opinion. I now had reason to believe that PEMF probably did have positive beneficial biological effects under some conditions.

Now the question was why and how. Those are the questions I have been working on for about 3 decades. But I also retain that skeptical bias. I want to see some reliable evidence before I start saying anything.

For several decades my strongest bias was probably against the possibility that PEMF could restore hair growth and health. My understanding of PEMF is imperfect, but I just did not see how it would work.

However, a company asked me last year to test whether or not ICES-PEMF would help hair growth. I met with them several times. They seemed to be good people with real domain expertise (not just marketers), so I agreed to run a test.

I did the best I could to modify ICES design details to fit the application, they ran a pilot test, and the results were remarkably good. They showed me a lot of data to suggest that the results were remarkably positive.

OK, once again, my bias against PEMF was not supported by the data. So, my opinion once again has changed. I now think that it is likely that, under proper conditions, ICES-PEMF can significantly improve hair health. Subsequent data may further support this, or it may contradict this. But we will see.

Now to your question (restated for the context of this discussion): why do I think ICES-PEMF appears to have a beneficial effect on hair growth and health?

Answer>>>
I do not know. But the data I have seen so far is that it seems to help quite significantly. I do not know if anyone knows why or how. I certainly don’t know. But in light of recent data I have changed my mind to now believe that there is good reason to consider that there is a positive biological effect on hair growth and health.

thx for the info… I’ve been using red light maybe 5x a week for the last month. i can say that it’s noticeably helped reduce my growing strong smile lines on my face… been using it for face and hair line in general, but have been keeping at it mostly bc it feels good to fall asleep to it during winter haha

@OptimalHealth Can you please share the red light product you use? Thanks

Do anyone have more information how effective this Cap is? Does it work better than the traditional hair loss medication and red light therapy? The homepage does only have a few pictures that I honestly don’t think are telling that much. Hope they provide more pictures in the future.

Thanks

nothing fancy and there were limited options at the time i purchased (5 years? ago)

today they have a dozen options you can get online.

my setup works (the health benefit and equipment) and I’m happy with it

Thanks for sharing :100:

Hi @TajD. Hope don’t mind that I ask. But have you seen any new hair growth, for example on the hairline after starting using the Prototype cap?

I have thinning but not hairline loss, so I can only go by the increased density I feel and what the stylist sees/ senses. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

@Bob Hi Bob. Have you seen more before and after photos than that are already out on the StimuField’s website? It would have been really interesting to see more results pictures.

Unfortunately I have not seen any pictures. You could contact them to ask if they have any additional pictures they want to share.

Thanks. But if this product is as promising as advertised, I wonder why it isn’t more before and after photos. And the one they choose doesn’t tell me much. I am sorry for my negativity. I have already ordered one and I really hope this will work.

well, bringing a product to market is about a thousand times more difficult than anyone would think. They are trying to pull this all together, and the people on this forum are getting access to an early release, so the marketing is not in place yet.

I discuss what it is like to try to bring a new product to market here:

@mbbj I know what you mean about the pictures-I couldn’t really tell much difference visually. I work in medical imaging, and for years now doctors (radiologists) have used CAD (Computer Aided Diagnostics), not to be confused with “Computer Aided Design”, to quantify and characterize various attributes in medical images. Dermatologists can use TrichoScan to do the same for images of the hair and scalp. There may be other techniques as well. It would be my guess that such techniques were employed as part of their research. When I preordered mine, I was contacted via email by a StimuField rep, Pablo. I have had an ongoing dialog with him since. He may be able to discuss some of you concerns / questions. He mentioned that Bob encouraged him to engage in the forum, which I think would be a great idea. If you received such an email after your preorder, you may want to reach out to that rep with your questions & concerns.

@gunplt and @mbbj,
Because they were testing my ICES-PEMF technology before deciding to develop this product, I made a serious effort to recuse myself from the testing and data analysis to eliminate any apparent bias that my involvement might have caused. So, while I do know that they used several clinically valid quantitative methods to assess the technology in terms of hair health and growth, as well as assessments by licensed clinicians, as well as collecting feedback from users to try to capture the non-quantifiable user observations and impressions of the technology, I was intentionally distant from this data and image collection. But having spoken with their scientists, they told me with high confidence that the results were considerably better than they had anticipated. Of course I cannot prove this, but I can say that I only decided to work with this group after I had determined that they had excellent scientific and clinical integrity.

It is very rare that I would say this about any company selling PEMF-based products, but my opinion is that they probably have very good results, but they need to be careful about exactly what they claim in their marketing, and how and when they release information. It helps to keep in mind that we are all getting very early access to this product, which means that not all of the details have been finalized related to marketing, etc.

Thanks for replaying back and for your advice gunplt. I will hear with him.
