Hi, I have an A9 and just purchased the 2x2 coil. I just received it today. The battery only lasted one hour the first time I used it, so I replaced it with a fresh (they are rechargable batteries) one and it died after an hour. I never had this problem with the original coils. Is this normal?
We test 100% of coils before shipment, so they have very few defects upon delivery.
First thing to do is to make sure the gold coil plug is fully inserted. It really takes a firm twist and push to make sure it is fully seated. Give that a try and please report back.
Hi, I just tried it again. Freshly charged battery. Put it in and started running at 10:15 am and it died by 10:17 a.m.
I’m running with regular coils now. I will report back in a few hours to ensure its not the machine but the new 2x2 coils.
Okay, it died with the regular coils too. It’s the machine, maybe? I am getting new batteries today to try, but both are doing this.
Could be batteries, could be a shorted internal connector. Based on your test with a different set of regular coils, its probably not the coils.
It might also be your battery charger, that does occasionally happen. Sometimes they malfunction.
If new batteries do not improve the situation, you should probably contact customer service:
Thank you so much for all of your help. I put in a new energizer, regular non-rechargable battery and it hasn’t turned off yet. So, it’s not the coils or the machine - thank goodness (can’t be without it!!!), but my rechargable batteries.
OK, good to know, thanks. Rechargeable batteries may advertise something like “1000 charges!!”, but I find they typically only recharge about 1/4 to 1/5 the number of times advertised. And extremely cheap batteries may only charge 1/10 or 1/20 the number of times advertised.
In any event, in my experience no type of battery lasts as long as advertised.
