Question: Quad-Stacked-Coil - is this the right order?

Hello all & @Bob

I was trying to get the right stacking for a quad-coil. Regarding to the coil (intensity of the LED’s) I figured out, that the following gives a little bit more “ommppphhh” then the dual-stacked coils:

Question: Is this correct?

Best,
Hans

P.S.: Anyway, the P9 with the integrated coil seems superior to this setup! I think the long cables introduce to much resistance.

yes, that is correct so long as you place the smooth-to-smooth pairs so that they add instead of cancel each other. TEST: place the hex test coil in the middle (2 coils on each side) of this sandwich. If correct, the green LED flashing will be very bright, if wrong, the green LED flashing will be very low.

Long coil resistance: yes, I discussed this several years ago, but it bears repeating:

Longer coils have more energy loss (about 15% for each length increase, short-to-standard, or standard-to-long), so I suggest using the shortest coils possible for your application if power is an issue.

Finally, there is energy loss at each plug connection, so cable extensions also lose power at each connection. This is why it is correct to say the P9 integrated coil is superior overall because the cable length is absolutely minimal, and no connectors are involved.
