ICES for constipation?

I’d like to write a post for PEMFbio on the Vagus nerve and PEMF. There’s a company that will remain nameless that markets their PEMF device for Vagus nerve stimulation related stress relief. What about the branch of the Vagus that controls gastrointestinal motility? Has anyone tried this? I know of an MD that might be interested for his constipated patients.

I have experimented with ICES PEMF on the vagus nerve on the neck as well on the gut. I can shift the gut more by placing it directly on the gut. I have also made the tVNS setup using a TENS unit as was recommended on this forum. Out of all my trials, placing ICES PEMF over the gut (starting slowly like a few minutes per day and working up) yields effective outcomes. Please note that there is a goldilocks amount of ICES PEMF on the gut if you have any form gut dysbiosis (which most people have). So going slow and working up slowly is key in my experience.

This is exactly what we are interested in. Is your gut level feeling that ICES PEMF helping normal get through or creating new currents? The myelin is not so much an insulator as taught in biology classes but mathematically a capacitor in electrical circuit terms. Capacitors have dielectric materials between the plates. I’m waiting a response to an expert as to whether myelin basic protein has what it takes to be a dielectric. If my hypothesis is correct this changes things from Faraday’s Induction to perhaps reconfiguration of the myelin capacitors.
Since you mentioned dysbiosis, this adds a whole new part of the enteric nervous system from myelinated fibers to smaller fibers that respond to bad bacteria and their metabolic products. Thanks for your input. My MD colleague is getting interested in these concepts.

In my experience, ICES PEMF can a) stimulate perilstasis b) bowels to move c) even cause a bowel “flush or rapid dumping” if there is dysbiotic pathogens and you leave it on the gut for too long. The latter is accompanied in our case by traditional herxheimer symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, etc. IMO a sign of a healthy gut is the ability to put ICES PEMF on it for multiple hours and not have it cause a herxheimer or “flush”.

good to know…i have personally found when I’m bloated or have a slight stomach upset, using pemf on my gut definitely has helped relieve the discomfort. typically the results are the pain or dis-ease greatly reduces within 15 mins followed by gas (relief!) haha

Received our micro-pulse A9, yesterday. Where would you put the coils for Vagus nerve stimulation?

Wife and I are suffering form constipation. Where do you place the coils?

my 2 cents would be to try 1 to 2 inches below the naval if I want to move the bowels.

We have the A9. Only received last week. Worked fast on left index finger.RA in it. I’m ecstatic about that. Haven’t been able to much with the finger. Will try that 3 fingers below navel, belly button. It’s an acupressure point. Have almost all the acupressure points for constipation, memorized. Will summarize any success, in this thread. Thanks for possible spots to try. Put coils on adam’s apple area, for a few hours, last week. Had some increased stomach, gurgle sounds. Didn’t precipitate a rapid flush, or dump. Sadly.

That’s awesome on the RA on the finger. Curious if 3 fingers below navel for multiple hours will cause a flush. It sure did for me. Please keep sharing your experiences - excite to have you join the forum and you share what works/ doesn’t work for you.

Had a tough time working on the coil for the simple pemf I’m putting together. I’m so happy that we have the A9. Mine isn’t going to be very portable. My wife is using the A9 on her hand for the next few days, since my finger is doing so well. I tried multiple spots on my stomach for a a couple hours on each. Tried an hour on my throat. Didn’t get a chance to check the anatomy of where the Vagus nerve branches. Have my build almost completed. Had to redo the coil. Was quite difficult to unspool and then rewind the coil. Checked the coil with a couple of 9volt batteries. One had full voltage the other was spent. With the full volt battery, got about 132 micro tesla at side of coil. With the fully charged, with phone in coil got a very high microtesla. It was about 2,470. I used an Ios app called physics toolbox. It’s a magnatometer. Was going to power my coil with laptop power supply. Now I will just use a 9 volt battery or a 9v power supply. Robert Dennis wirtes that high gauss isn’t needed, and can be harmful. Getting back to constipation problem. I’ll keep experimenting with spots and see if I can find some relief. I’m working out regularly. Alot of the bowel problem could just be my age, as well. I’m 67. Possible there is some issues with bile secretion.

I’ve tried putting the coils all over the accupressure points for coanstipation. Put it on my ears where the is the spot that the Vagus nerve can be manually massaged. All over. Used the highest setting on the A9 which is X. Not one spot resulted in that rapid flush. I’m running out of spots to try it on. There are accupressure points on the forearm where the arm bands on the end of the crease. There are points on the wrist 3 fingers from bottom of palm. Also on the legs below knee. Another one below middle bone there in the chest, which is the solar plexus. It’s 3 finger width below that protuding little bone in middle chest. I’ve tried them all for a long time. So far not one of those points elicited the flush. I’m out of spots to try . Put all over diffrent parts of stomach. Nothing happened.

How long are you trying it on each spot?

Have you tried Psyllum Husk Fiber for IBS-C? (this was counter intuitive to me, but apparently it is indicated for both IBS-D and IBS-C). ConsumerLab says Organic East India brand Psyllium Husk Fiber has the lowest heavy metals levels of various brands.

Tried each spot for at least a half hour. Still trying to find method to hold coils in place. Made a wrap to hold the coils on my hand. Doing it on other body parts is more difficult. Using blue painters tape for now. Relatively easy to remove. Have some psyllum Husk to try. Haven’t yet. Would type more, but have a bad RA flare up. Both hands. I’ll check back here, later.

Oh no - good luck with the RA flare up. I did around 4 hours on the gut starting around 6pm and it caused the flush the next morning.

Did gym, with heavy workout, then cut overgrown lawn. Stressed hands,to the max. Then boom. Mother of all flareups.
