Hello, my good friend tore his Achilles tendon and now has a cast on his foot. Would the ICES M1 device with any coil configuration be able to penetrate deep enough? Any particular settings and coil placement?

It will penetrate the cast with no problems as long as the cast is not made of a lot of metal mesh. Place the coils on opposite sides or stacked, and set the intensity to 11 to 13 using the Omni8 pulse pattern.
