Is this a technology that can be replicated with the C5? Preformatted text
ICES-PEMF devices (C5, A9, M1, P9) generate magnetic pulses, not light (not photobiomodulation). But beneficial synergistic effects of combining the two (light + PEMF) are certainly possible. There has not been a lot of formal (published) research on these synergistic effects, but people have tried it and they report to me that they get good results. But I do not know the details of how they apply each, how they combine them, specific beneficial effects, or percent success.
I am very familiar with photobiomodulation including participating in a clinical trial for 1070nm on the head. As @Bob noted, ICES PEMF is not photobiomodulation, however the two work very well synergistically in my experience. If you would like to share your goals, I am happy to share my thoughts and experiences.
I recently was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and while the M1 has helped to some degree, I still get these very painful fibro flares that could put me out for the entire day or even more. Plus, getting very little sleep, 3-5 hours on average, 6 on a very good night, though not quality sleep.
So after several months of research, Iâve been reading how PMB could help with treating Parkinson, autism, brain damage from strokes, Alzheimer, fibromyalgia⌠in fact anything due to brain inflammation, as long as the red or infrared rays penetrated deep enough into the brain to reduce the inflammation. Recommended pulsed lights because they penetrate more deeply through the skull. Damaged mitochondria attributed as the cause of brain inflammation, so alternating mix of pulsating red and infrared light therapy for no more than 24 minutes to be used during or after meals twice a day to reduce inflammation.
I have recently paid for a PMB âhatâ to share with my mother recently recovering from a stroke. The woman selling it is a retired doctor in Australia who has participated in research studies with her specially engineered hat showing the effectiveness of her PMB hat on the treatment of PD. As long as the PD patient wears it for twice a day for 24 minutes, PD symptoms are completely gone!
Not a cure, but keeps symptoms at bay, which is pretty amazing. And thatâs not even looking at other health benefits: treats atherosclerosis, skin conditions, arthritis and eye conditions, plus promotes hair growth. I am so excitedly looking forward to this hat being shipped out to me and seeing how this will work for me and my mother!
Yes, I looked into Vielight as well, but when they responded to my email, unfortunately, did not know enough about treating brain inflammation, whereas the other woman had participated in some studies and her hat produced some very promising results. Check out Catherine Hillâs blog, Redlightsontherain. Hat comes with an insert that sits at the edge of the nostrils (to get light penetrating into the deeper recesses of the brain) and a pad to wrap around the tummy during or after meals (mitochondria works best after meals).
Very pricey, but if it works, then it will be well worth the investment â the quality of my life (and health) has been so negatively impacted by FM for over 20 years.
And if both PEMF and PBM work synergistically, all the more power!
Serenity, sorry to hear that youâve been dealing with fibro for 20+ years. My husband has a 20-yr history with chronic foot pain/wound, but with the help of PEMF, then PBM (at the fantastic âBioflexâ clinic in Toronto), then Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM), heâs gone from 8/10 pain to 2/10. I second TajD and Bob on how PEMF and PBM seem to work synergistically, and I would add FSM to the list. I think PEMF started the healing process in my husbandâs foot, and PBM closed the wound, but FSM was able to specifically address the pathophysiology behind the whole pain syndrome by treating the âcentral sensitizationâ that is behind all chronic pain or chronic symptoms, including Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME, even long Covid. Also helpful for us were accupuncture, PT, and and the concept of reducing fear and attention around symptoms that is central to pain-reprocessing therapies. You can find practitioners in your area at frequencyspecific.com- choose the ones with the most current training, as the field has grown a lot in the last 5 years. Good luck!
Thank you @LouiseB, I live in Vancouver BC and am registered at the local pain clinic but have not heard of FSM. Since I also have hyperacunesia (ultra sensitive with all 5 senses), I tend to react adversely to different electrical currents, so I usually approach those with caution, for example TENS will aggravate my pain rather than relieve it. But Iâm always open to suggestions, so I will look into this.
I love this forum, because everyone is so supportive and eager to share information to address various health issues or information on the latest research!
Thank you all for your thoughtful replies, Im excited to look into these treatments. For myself, I was considering the treatment dor anxiety and panic attacks, however was very intrigued in the autism study.
Im looking into the PMB hat. Im experimenting with my red light panel (red reactive) as I can change it to 40hz⌠it has 4 wavelengths⌠but doesnât include 610 as
The PMB hat⌠I also found the blog benfificial⌠included instructions for someone to make a hat!
I have a good friend with CRPS, living with pain is exhausting and Im sorry. She has done many treatments and finally found a regime that works, but itâs basically a full-time job.
Im thankful for your reaponse and will reach out with my results.
Yes, many of these conditions may be due to damaged mitochondria, and unfortunately, no cure. But fortunately, PBM, if the intensity is strong enough can penetrate the brain and help reduce some of the effects. Yes, Catherine Hill is very dedicated to helping people and has provided instructions, even videos on how to make your own. Not as long lasting as hers, but works for those who canât afford to buy hers.
There are other quality devices that are much cheaper with more features and 3 year warranty (hers only has one year) but donât have the instructions on the protocols to adjust, so I donât want to take a chance with something I donât know will work for FM, though they may work for other conditions that are not brain related.
