Anal Gland Carcinoma in Dog

Hi. My 8 year old labradoodle was diagnosed with an Anal Gland carcinoma in May this year. She had the tumor removed in August and has been doing not bad. The problem is we found out about the tumor in the first place because she was drinking “ALOT” of water and it was discovered that she was Hypercalcemic. The removal of the tumor was supposed to correct this but it never did so we suspect that she has metatastic disease that was not detected in the prior imaging (Ultrasounds).

We will not be treating as the hospital is 8 hours drive away from where we live (it is in Saskatoon) in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

As of Yesterday, her blood work indicates that her blood calcium is still high, kidneys are still good but her alkaline phosphatase has started to rise above normal.

I have nothing to lose so I thought I might try PEMF on her. I have an A9 and an M1 and I am just trying to decide what protocol and placement would be best. I’m know the A9 only does Omni 8 so I am wondering if I should put all the coils on Omni 8? And since I am dealing with metatastic disease and the actual tumor (and anal sac it was in) was removed in August, where should I even attempt to put the coils? Should I try and attach them to her or just put them on her bed. It is -34 Celsius here (with wind chill) so she is spending ALOT of time in her bed! Thank you in advance to everyone who responds!

I would start with Omni-8 You could try putting the coils beneath a thin layer of bedding, near where your dog sleeps, so that the coils are approximately under the area of the surgery. Start with a medium setting, or 8 or 9 when using the M1, and run it all night while she sleeps.

If it makes her uncomfortable or she avoids it, turn the intensity down a bit and re-try.

Thank you for replying Bob. I will give what you suggested a try and see how it goes.

I think you are on the right track with the hypercalcemia. I wrote this to educate myself https://pemfbio.com/2024/12/09/magnets-and-water/ I’d really recommend this Aremenian group Ayrapetyan SN They found that 4 Hz mT PEMF affects they way snail ganglia see artificial snail blood. They think it has to do with waters of hydration. Static magnetic fields are used to prevent calcium carbonate scaling. It would be so incredibly cool if you keep super careful notes of your use of PEMF and then test your puppy’s blood again.

Hi, I am sorry to hear about your dog. I don’t have any answers for you but just a thought… Dr Nicholas Gonzalez did a lot work and research for cancer and he did work with Nutricology in formulating glandular product for literally every gland and organ in the body. They are used in the ‘like with like’ idea. They are used to improve/repair glandular function. The parathyroid may be interesting as it utilizes/balances calcium in the body. There are vets that use glandulars for dogs (1/2 cap) and horses(x6 caps). They are very reasonable to purchase. Dr Connor’s clinic is a good source, and there is a lot of info online. Hope he gets better, I defer to this amazing site regarding the PEMF which I do consider a life saver!! And also use it for my husband, dogs and horses, sharon

Hi Lineweaver. I looked up the group you were talking about (Ayrapetyan) and he has put out a lot of studies on Na/Ca channels and hydration, not only related to cancer but also pain. This is interesting because my daughter has been living with AMPS (Amplified Musculoskeletal Pain Syndrome) for over six years now. I may have to start using the PEMF on her more regularly. But I must admit it was all pretty over my head…
I will definitely document Kora’s PEMF treatment and report back. Thanks for replying!

Hi Sharon. I have actually done/am doing an ultrasound of her parathyroid glands on Jan 2, 2025. We did an ultrasound in October this year but they only saw three “normal” glands. The vet is wondering if the one not seen on the ultrasound is the “abnormal” one producing the hypercalcemia.
I think that may be wishful thinkng
I believe she just has metastasized anal sac carcinoma that we can’t locate. So I guess what I am saying is that I was “hopeful” that she had actually “two” problems - an anal sac tumor that she had removed but now was good, and a parathyroid gland that was acting up to produce the hypercalcemia. But I think it is not the parathyroid glands but actually the cancer causing the high calcium (anal sac tumors commonly cause this). But I will definitely look up glandulars and see if they will be appropriate for her. Thank you for replying!

Good Luck!! I certianly know how you feel.

Take very good notes on the PEMF thing. You may be able to publish with teh help of the pediatrician. Someone published on a little girl being helped by virtual reality. https://content.iospress.com/articles/journal-of-pediatric-rehabilitation-medicine/prm230059 The parathyroid thing is an interesting twist. I might have content to help if her pediatrician is willing to explore. My thought is FluxHealth devices might be more tunable.
